In the heart of San Francisco, Oracle sought to create an inspiring environment for its corporate event, Oracle OpenWorld. GuildWorks was asked to design and construct a special tension structure on Howard St, adjacent to the Moscone Convention Center.
Through the application of tested methodologies, the Oracle OpenWorld Fabric Structure showcased GuildWorks' capability to combine functional design with safety
The design and installation were done utilizing structural tension lines, fabric breakaway lines, stage truss, and event fabric. The tension structure provided shade and a visually captivating atmosphere. The design incorporated compression masts and heavy-duty truss, supported by mass ballasts, achieving a balance between stability and dynamic forces. Facing the potential impact of high winds, breakaway lines were engineered and integrated to release the fabric in the event of extreme conditions, reducing strain on the core structure.
This highly technical design has allowed corporate gatherings to flourish and proceed with minimal disruption in any weather conditions all while creating a high audience impact.
